Channel Seven's 2012 program "Good Christian Bitches" is demeaning and offensive

Channel Seven is promoting a program called "Good Christian Bitches" to air next year.  The title alone is debasing and derisive. Help us to get it off the air!!!

I urge you to lodge a complaint, mentioning some of the following points in your own words:

1.       The term “bitch” is one of abuse.  In parliament, the word directed at a female would be completely unacceptable.  In fact, when a Senator “meowed” at Senator Penny Wong, it sparked angry cries of sexism.

2.       This derogatory language and denigration of the faith of millions of Australians is completely unacceptable.

3.       Even if families do not watch the show, they are subjected to advertisements promoting it.

4.       The show’s promotion advertisement breaches the Commercial Television Code of Practice:

Proscribed Material

1.9 A licensee may not broadcast a program, program promotion, station identification or community service announcement which is likely, in all the circumstances, to:

1.9.6 provoke or perpetuate intense dislike, serious contempt or severe ridicule against a person or group of persons on the grounds of age, colour, gender, national or ethnic origin, disability, race, religion or sexual preference;

Thank's very much Angela I'm going to do this right now! I cannot believe that would even go to air! Totally offensive and innapropriate - not only the use of the word bitch in the title, but that its used to describe a particular type of religious group. This should not be accepted for any religion / race / ethnic group! I doubt they would be so bold as to have a show called the 'Good Muslim Bitches' or the 'Good Italian Bitches' or the 'Good African-American Bitches'. I'm so shocked to even hear of this! Though I guess when I think about it not so much, as Christian Females seem to be the target of much ridcule and mockery these days. In a recent issue of Dolly Magazine there was an article about a group of Christian Teenages who work as exercists and the article which may at face value appear to tell their story as interesting women with their own beliefs and independent views from the mainstream, it highlights the 'exercist' nature of their work and makes parellels to witch doctors. While seeming to appear 'open minded' about different religious views the article finishes saying 'while this makes a good story its definatly not a truth to take on board'.

Though again this show is not appaulling as it particulary indicates Christians but that it would be said about any group of people is not acceptable.
