Personal Campaign Interests/ Ideas
My concern lays in the fact that women are still treated as second class citizens and are largely objectified as sexual objects. This attitude towards the female gender is wide-spread and at the same time destructive to Western culture; it continues to influence the formation of sexual, spiritual values and gender issues within Australia’s youth. I have two daughters a 171/2 year old and a two year old. 3 years ago I read my eldest daughters magazines Dolly and Girlfriend and felt sick by the content.
