- I became interested in the issues around sexualisation in the media after hearing Melinda Tankard-Reist and Julie Gale speak at a Women's Forum Australia event in my city. Since then I have been engaging in activism through performance poetry, culture jamming and writing to companies. As well as complaining about advertising, I also like to write to companies (the small few) that are doing the right thing (see threadless.com) and let them know I appreciate it. I am really happy about finding this forum. I am a film maker and i am beginning to write 2 films. One is a hard hitting short film about the life of a boy who grows into a man that captures the significant points where pornography and pop culture sexual images impact his life.
