We're being spammed

Hi all,

Unfortunately, we have had some nasty blog posts appear from people who seem intent on posting porn sites to our site. For this reason, I have had to set this site to be moderated for now.

This means that before your blog post or forum topic appears, I will have to approve it.

I will endeavour to approve all of your blog posts and forum topics as soon as possible after they are posted. You usually won't have to wait too long before your blog post appears on… Continue

Naomi Wolf on 'fake activism' and effective protest

Posted on July 24, 2010 at 11:16pm 0 Comments

Interesting video about activism and what is required to make a difference. I thought it might be good to put this to our community, what are your thoughts?

Naomi is talking about mass protest, that it is necessary to stop traffic, to interrupt 'business as usual' in order to make a difference. How can we interrupt 'business as usual' for those who objectify women and… Continue

'The Crap we have to endure to watch the footy'

Posted on June 14, 2010 at 9:00pm 1 Comment

These are the words of a CS member who contacted us, sick to death of seeing these ads for Bet 247 when watching AFL football.

Here is a screenshot:

Without letting Bet247 off the hook, it is their ad after all, it is interesting that these ads are screening during AFL games. This reminds me of when the AFL Under 16's team on the gold coast had 'Hooters' as their major sponsor. Oh yes, that was…

Dear fellow Collective Shout users,

I have only recently found this community, and I am extremely grateful I have. It is so comforting to have found a group of people equally concerned with a society whose lust for sex is growing ever more out of control.

I recently found this website www.yopinion.com.au, who are currently running a debate on what approaches should be adopted toward prostitution. I thought this might interest some of you. We must have our voice heard on the issue - join up on the website and have your voice heard on the matter.

Yours Sincerely

Thank you for that. Certainly we all need encouragement to put forward our concerns regarding this and other issues that are undermining the moral and ethical fiber of this country that we all love. What the marketing company's and the media think they are getting away with is unconscionable. However for the sake of profit, they are even undermining themselves. I am sure that many of the people that are employed or even control these systems have families, and their exploitations will come back on them in the way of their own children will be as screwed up as much as anyone else's. It could be seen as poetic justice except that for any child to be subjected to these social evils is absolutely wrong. I look forward to adding my support to Collective Shout and being involved in any way that brings about some sanity to our world.
